Frequently-asked Questions

Can I ride a Vig electric scooter in the rain?

EDIT: We’ve now added the Yrsa, which has an outstanding IP rating (IP68) on the electrical components and an IP55 rating on the motors and brakes…which means the answer to the question is “if you have a Yrsa, then yes! Otherwise no.”.

Try not to. Like most electric scooters, Vig scooters have an IP54 environmental rating, meaning If you happen to get caught in the rain you’ll probably be ok. That said, we do not recommend riding in heavy rain or any snow. The road is more slippery and it will take you a lot longer to brake. And try to avoid puddles. Electrical equipment and water do not go well together. Water damage can happen over time.
