E-scooters are generally not great for riding in a Canadian winter (unless you live on the West Coast…we can ride almost the entire year! Sorry to gloat). Snow is dangerous to ride in because like a bike, the tires are not meant for it. Salt can corrode electrical parts.
So to store your scooter for a few months, here’s what you need to do:
- Charge the battery to 80% before storing. You don’t want the battery to run flat and it’s best for battery health to not store at 100%.
- Store the scooter in a cool, dry place indoors, away from extreme temperatures (hot or cold), such as an insulated garage or in your home.
- Check the battery capacity halfway through the winer, and recharge to 80% if it has dropped below 40%.
